The Ninth National Structure Design Contest for College Students was held in Kunming University of Science and Technology from Oct. 14th to Oct. 18th, 2015. Under the supervision of Chen Sijia and Assoc Professor Song Xiaobing, the SJTU delegation team, which consists of the students from Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture, won the first prize in this contest. This marks SJTU‘s ninth consecutive triumph at this event.

The National Structure Design Contest for College Students, which is officially confirmed by China’s Ministry of Education as one of the nine major national contests for college students, is known for the most challenging demand for the spirit of innovation, the awareness of teamwork and the practice capability in the domain of civil engineering. The Ninth National Structure Design Contest for College Students, which summoned the delegation teams from 110 institutions of higher learning from all across the nation, marks a historic record with the highest difficulty, the largest number of participating universities and the largest model-making scale. The delegation team from Shanghai Jiao Tong University defended the glory of tradition in competing with those from Zhejiang University, Tongji University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Southwest Jiaotong University and Dalian University of Technology.
