OCE Teachers Participate in the 3rd Session of UTokyo-SJTU-KAIST Joint Academic Seminar in Japan

On Aug. 30th and 31st, the UTokyo-SJTU-KAIST Joint Academic Seminar, hosted by University of Tokyo, Japan, was held at the University of Tokyo Komaba campus. Numbers of professors, doctor and master graduate scholars from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), University of South Korea KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) and University of Tokyo, participated in the seminar, conducting deeply communication and discussion on the research achievements in ocean engineering and other related fields.

On Aug.30, Professor HU Tianqun, Associate Professor WANG Lei, GU Xiechong, from OCE, SJTU, and Deputy Director ZHANG Xinshu, from the Department of Naval Architecture and Civil Engineering of OCE, SJTU; Professor Soonhung Han, Daejun Chang, Jinwhan Kim and Hyun Chung from South Korea KAIST University; Professor Takuji Waseda, Hajime Yamaguchi, Masahiko Ozaki, Hideyuki Suzuki, Toru Sato, Ken Takagi, Shigeru Tabeta, Takeshi Kawano, Associate Professor Toshihiro Maki, Ryota Wada and Lecturer Shinichiro Hirabayashi at University of Tokyo made wonderful introductions of the latest achievements in their respective research fields. Besides, doctor and master graduates from the three Universities also made communications on their research achievements in naval and ocean engineering and other related fields in the form of exhibition boards.

On Aug. 31, all the participants visited JAMSTEC (Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology). The seminar further strengthened the friendly relations of academic exchanges and collaborations among China, Japan and South Korea, which will lay a solid foundation of jointly promoting cooperation and research development in the naval and ocean engineering and other related areas.
